Porcelain Presence has been written, directed and produced by Eliza Bibb and Sparky Jones, as well as lots of the camera work and sound from various scenes.

On Porcelain Presence we have always had a very limited crew, with some shoots being shot only between the 2 of us, which has proven to be very stressful! Over the years we have had various different people help us out with different roles on different days, and for that we are forever grateful.

I've always loved watching movies and tv shows. Sometimes the suspension of reality, or even watching reality unfold before our very eyes can bring out powerful emotions and influence our lives in ways we could never even imagine.

The power of a single story can define who we are, it develops our personalities, it gives us a sense of joy, sadness, anger. Ever since I was a little kid, I'd watch my favourite movies and watch storylines unfold, seeing the character's you begin to grow and love go through a journey and I would relate that to my own circumstances which can give us hope and inspiration for our own lives, or ways to deal with our own problems.

Telling such stories is what inspired me to get into making films in the hope of influencing others the same way as it it did me or just purely to entertain people to help them remove themselves from the reality of life and give them a piece of my own imagination.

Growing up I had no idea I would be making films, I always thought I'd be an author or a croupier. I actually
stumbled upon making films by chance, after taking media studies as an A-Level (because I had no idea what else to do and it sounded fun!) - and I'm so glad I did!

For me, making films has so many meanings. It can be used as escapism - you can create a whole different world for the audience to get sucked into. It can be used to reach people on an emotional level whether that's to make the laugh or keep them on the edge of their seat!

I have never been a confident speaker in real life so I have always found my voice through film, through writing and telling stories, and conveying messages on screen rather than in person!

Another major thing with films for me is they bring people together. Whether thats watching them with family and friends, or working on different film sets where the whole cast/crew ends up feeling like a family!

Example: One day in my 2nd year of uni I was sat watching 'Mr Beans Holiday' at my house, and when it got to the part where the characters are at Cannes Film Festival, I went onto Twitter and posted "I wanna go to a film festival!" - and Sparky (who was in 3rd year on the course, & who I had never actually met before!) replied "ME TOO!!! LET'S MAKE A MOVIE!!!!" - and so was the start of Porcelain Presence and a lifelong friendship!

We have had lots of artists and prop makers over the years help us out with providing various items to help bring our sets to life! Whether that's lending us porcelain dolls, dolls houses, props for our 1980's scenes, or creating artwork for Esther's bedroom in the psychiatric hospital, and The Darnell Family home. Thank you so much! Below are some stills from the film where we have used the artwork and props people sent in!
